Day 8 Silandro to Moena Italy

As we left the hotel in Silandro it was starting to rain so we donned our wet gear and set off.
Twenty minutes into the journey we remembered that the receptionist at the Silandro hotel hadnt returned our passports to us so we did a u turn and set off back
.
For the second time we set off only the rain was a lot worse.

What should have been a two hour journey turned into four thanks to the weather and horrendous traffic and by the time we arrived at Moena we were very tired, very wet and very cold.

We pulled up  outside our hotel which resembled a typical Swiss chalet but when we walked inside it was like Ikea only twenty years in the future and a very friendly hotel owner appeared (with an old British bulldog in tow) and immediately showed us a garage to park the bike and then up to our room  (which to enter you just had to wave your keycard in front of a glass panel).

The owner then insisted on taking our wet clothing to hang in his boiler room to dry out.
As we were cold we pressed the aircon panel on the wall to warm the room and discovered it was basically a mini computer, we first selected British language and the glass panel proceeded to welcome us by name and tell us what weather to expect for the next few days as well as turn up the room heating  amongst other things!
After we had warmed up in a hot bubble bath we went downstairs where a lovely cup of coffee and some cake was waiting for us and we were told that we were welcome to go downstairs for a hot sauna or into the steam room which we promptly did.
As the sun had now come out we then went for a stroll around the little lake opposite the hotel before a lovely dinner of gnocchi and veal and then an early night
